Since Blu-ray seems to be winning the High Definition Disc format war, it's only natural that they release Blu-ray products that are cheaper. Well, Sony has just announced that the Sony BDU-X10S internal Blu-ray ROM drive will cost around $200.
The Sony BDU-X10S internal Blu-ray optical drive will allow you to watch High definition Blu-ray discs right on your PC. Serial ATA is the interface on the Sony BDU-X10S and it has a 5.25 inch form factor. There's an included Cyberlink PowerDVD BD Edition software with every purchase of the Sony BDU-X10S so you can watch Blu-ray disc movies on your PC.
However, even though you already have the Sony BDU-X10S, it doesn't mean you can instantly play Blu-ray discs on your standard PC, you need an HD Computer display that is connected to your PC using HDMI cable. To see if your PC is HD ready try searching for Google on what specifications your PC needs to be.
The Sony BDU-X10S will start shipping January 2008.
