This is the first time that I’ve come across a website that offers penetration testing. Apparently, penetration testing, according to Wikipedia, is a method of evaluating the security of a computer system or network by simulating an attack by a malicious user known as a hacker. Now, I have heard of ethical hacking before, and penetration testing seems to be in the realms of ethical hacking. offers penetration testing so you can make necessary changes on your network’s security. Now there are individual persons who also offer similar services, however, the problem with IT professionals who offer such services is that if they have a very good reputation, their price is WAY to expensive, and if you do come upon someone who’s not yet well known, there’s the problem of their “trustworthiness”.

If a company does your penetration tests, there’s the added illusion of reliability as you can always take them to court if anything goes wrong or if your system is breached. Whether you want an individual or a company to do your penetration tests, it is always a good idea to do a background check, after all, you’re basically handing over the reins of your network over to them.
