And we have another flip phone from LG. The LG VX8350 is an update of the LG VX8300 without of course, the stubby antennae that plague the design of the LG VX8300.
ADVANTAGES: One thing I love about the LG VX8350 is its ability to read text messages outside the screen which is a feature that is missing on most flip phones. Both the external and internal screen of the LG VX8350 supports 256,000 colors which is a really great thing for LG to do, most manufacturers would just give the external screen a 65k color.
DISADVANTAGES: The LG VX8350 has a too curvy design. I'm not really the girly-girl type and the LG VX8350 looks like a compact powder and I also don't like the plastic feel of the phone. The LG VX8350 also has no flash and has a mediocre speaker which if turned on too loud, music will sound kinda garbled. I have had problems opening the LG VX8350 with one hand as I am accustomed to do with the Razr phones but then again, maybe I'm just a klutz or it might be the plastic.
PRICING AND AVAILABILITY: Verizon Wireless is currently carrying the LG VX8350 and they have release the LG VX8350R which is exactly like the VX8350 except that it is in red. It is available for $79.99 after a $50 mail in rebate and comes with a two year contract with Verizon.

I also love that it can read text messages on the external screen. It's very useful when I want to sneak a peek at my text messages when a professor is lecturing.
Had issues with the first unit I purchased with Verizon but got a replacement unit and now I'm a happy camper.
A very cheap and reliable phone. I don't need fancy features, I just want to be able to receive and make a call and this one does its job.
