What is a hard reset? A hard reset involves reformatting your windows mobile device and restoring the default settings. A hard reset is usually done when your device becomes unresponsive or correct a software issue that cannot be corrected with an ordinary soft reset.
The following methods of doing a hard reset is applicable to the following windows mobile device: Dopod 818Pro, Qtek S200, Dopod 830, O2 XDA Neo, i-mate JAMin, Orange SPV M600, Vodafone VPA Compact S, and TC 500.
First Method:
1.Press Start->settings-> Clear Storage
2.Enter 1234 and then press yes
3.You're done
The first method is the simplest but of course, once your device cannot get pass the welcome screen, it would probably be difficult to do the first method so there's a second method that involves pressing some hardware buttons
Second Method:
1.On the right side of the device, press the camera and the communication buttons
2.Without releasing the previous button, use your stylus to press the hole at the bottom of the device
3.Release the stylus but keep your hold on the cam and comm buttons
4.A message will appear saying press send. Press the green call button and then release your hold on the cam and comm buttons
5.When a message is displayed stating that the device is being formatted, release the call button
6.You are now finished doing a hard reset
After doing a hard reset, the welcome screen would probably take a long time before you're taken to the configuration screen so don't worry. However, if thirty minutes have passed and you're still on the welcome screen, it's time to take your device to your wireless carrier or the store you bought it from to have it fixed.
