Motorola offering free car charger with purchase of Motorola T8500R Two-Way Radios

Motorola has just announced a new promo for the Motorola T8500R two-way radios. Frankly, in this age of cell phones, I don't know why Motorola doesn't concentrate on promoting their cell phone line, they're quickly slipping out of the top three position in terms of mobile phone sales. Anyways, the Motorola T8500R has a range of 18 miles, under optimum conditions, of course.

The Motorola T8500R also has interchangeable face plates, and something like a cell phone's ringtone only Motorola dubs it as "call tones". Other features of the Motorola T8500R as advertised by Motorola are:

-- Delivers a range of up to 18 miles (under optimum conditions)(2)
-- 22 channels, each with 121 privacy codes for 2,662 combinations for
clear, uninterrupted connections
-- Dual power, works with 3 AA batteries (not included) and rechargeable
NiMH batteries (included)
-- Approximately 32 hr. alkaline or 11 hr. NiMH estimated talk time
-- iVOX for speech-activated, hands-free communication
-- 7 NOAA/Environment Canada weather channels and 4 marine weather
channels(3)
-- QT (Quiet Talk) interruption feature helps eliminate interference
-- Backlit display for readability in low lighting conditions
-- Companding technology to help filter out static between words
-- LCD battery meter for charge indication
-- Digital Signal Processing to help provide consistent sound quality
-- VibraCall(TM) vibrating alert

Motorola announced that they will includ a free car charger with any purchase of the Motorola T8500R from Nov. 15 - Dec. 31 2007. The Motorola T8500R has a suggested retail price of $69.99.
