Nokia 8800 Arte and Nokia 8800 Sapphire Arte

Nokia has recently announced a new batch of cell phones. Among these new cell phones is the Nokia 8800 series which is aimed for the style conscious mobile phone user who doesn't want to go with the iPhone but would prefer the more traditional design in mobile phones.

I don't know what it is with Nokia and giving their mobile phones a name, before the start of the mobile phone boom, Nokia just named their handsets with numbers and now I keep seeing these weird sounding names that, FYI Nokia, doesn't really help in selling your mobile phones.

Nokia 8800 Arte and 8800 Sapphire Arte has a minimalist design and made from metal and glass which, unlike the iPhone, has an anti-fingerprint coating. I don't know if the anti-fingerprint coating will work since if you're going to touch a glass surface, it usually means you'll leave fingerprints. Both phones has 3G capabilities, 3.2 mega pixel camera, and a 1GB built-in memory.

A metal and glass body doesn't come cheap so the Nokia 8800 Arte will have a price tag of 1000 Euros before taxes and will be available during the fourth quarter of 2007 while the Nokia 8800 Sapphire Arte will cost 1150 Euros and will be released on the first quarter of 2008. So why the higher price tag on the Nokia 8800 sapphire Arte? Probably because of the genuine sapphire gem stone and an accent of leather on its body.
