The Sony BDP-S350 is the latest stand alone Blu-ray player from Sony. After winning the HD format wars, it’s only natural that Sony releases another Blu-ray player, however, at $400, this is still pretty expensive.
The Sony BDP-S350 now features an Ethernet port which allows consumers to get direct updates via internet and to download additional content. It’s about time that Sony added Ethernet ports on their Blu-ray players since the previous HD DVD players have one.
The Sony BDP-S350 is capable of 1080/60p and 24p True Cinema output and is also capable of upscaling your existing DVDs up to 1080p. This new Blu-ray players also features an external port so users can add optional storage.
Compatible formats that can be played on the Sony BDP-S350 includes: DVD+R, DVD+RW, DVD-R, DVD-RW, CD, CD-R/RW (CD-DA format), and JPEG on DVD//CD recordable media. This player also offers 7.1 channel Dolby TrueHD and Dolby Digital Plus decoding as well asd DTS HD High resolution audio and master audio bit-stream output.
Expected shipping date is around summer for the Sony BDP-S350.
