Sony has recently released its top of the line digital SLR system, the DSLR-A700 camera. There are a lot of reasons why photo enthusiasts and photo hobbyists would want to get their hands on the Sony DSLR-A700. Aside from the DSLR-A700’s advanced imaging technologies and lightweight magnesium alloy construction, the DSLR-A700 is compatible with most Minolta Maxxum mount lenses.
Sony’s DSLR-A700 has a new 12.2-megapixel Exmor CMOS sensor which conducts analog-to-digital (A/D) signal conversion and dual noise reduction right on the sensor itself. Photo hobbyists would be assured of high-resolution, detailed images with rich tonal reproduction that they can show off by scrapbooking their works.

No kidding, I would love to have gotten this for a gift. I bought it for myself and am learning to use it these days. It had a perfect layout. I buy most of my stuff at Ritz camera because it is by my house and they provide good service and returns should I need it. However, this purchase i actually got at Circuit City. I am chronicling my experience with this camera here: http://sony-dslr-a700.blogspot.com/
Post for any questions about the camera if you want me to help you decide.
