Sony has just recently unveiled their new line of entry-level VAIO notebooks the lowest of which costs around $750---their cheapest VAIO notebook to date. The VAIO NR series will come in 4 models, the NR140, NR120, NR110, and NR160. All of the VAIO NR series will come in three colors, Wenge (a rich brown with copper accents), silk (a bright white with a matte finish), and granite (a silver hue with natural tones).
The VAIO NR Series, VGN-NR120 (VGN-NR120E/S), VGN-NR140 (VGN-NR140E/S), VGN-NR110 (VGN-NR110E/S), and VGN-NR160 (VGN-NR160E/S) have common specifications like: XBRITE 15.4 inch LCD display, Intel Pentium Dual Core(1.46 GHz) T2310 processor, 1 GB DDR2 memory, 160 GB HDD, Mobile Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 graphics card, and DVD-RW optical disk. The difference lies in the processors, the VGN-NR120 (VGN-NR120E/S) will have an Intel Pentium Dual Core(1.46 GHz) T2310 processor, the VGN-NR140 (VGN-NR140E/S) has an Intel Pentium Dual Core T2330 (1.6 GHZ) processor, the VGN-NR110 (VGN-NR110E/S) has only a 120 GB HDD, and the VGN-NR160 (VGN-NR160E/S) has an Intel Pentium Dual Core T5250 (1.5 GHz) processor. All VAIO NR series will come with a Windows VISTA Home Premium Edition except the VAIO VGN-NR160 (VGN-NR160E/S) which will come with a Windows VISTA Business edition.
