The Panasonic HDC-SD100 is the latest addition to Panasonic’s HD camcorder line. This is one of Panasonic’s first AVCHD models with a 3MOS sensor.
The Panasonic 3MOS system is based on Panasonic’s 3CCD technology, which according to Panasonic: can provide “excellent color reproduction”. The 3MOS sensors have expanded light receiving areas which can improve image quality even in low light conditions. Panasonic’s 3MOS technology processes red, green and blue components separately so colors can be reproduced like the original.
The Panasonic HDC-SD100 is capable of full HD recording and has a total of 2,070,000 pixels and records to a SD Memory card. Other notable features include: Optical image stabilization, 5 Microphone, 5.1-Channel Surround Sound System, face detection, high speed burst shooting and a wide angle viewing LCD screen.
The Panasonic HDC-SD100 will be available in September this year with a suggested retail price of $1,099.95
