Microsoft to Launch Vista Service Pack 1 in 2008
Microsoft has recently announced that the Windows Vista Service Pack 1 will be released during the first quarter of 2008. Microsoft hopes that the update on the Windows Vista Service Pack 1 will deter piracy. Unlike the Windows XP OS, according to Microsoft, the Windows Vista OS was able to reduce piracy by half.
I don't know about Microsoft but if they just put in all the money they're spending to make Vista piracy proof into subsidizing the cost in countries which cannot afford their Vista software in the first place, particularly Asia, then they wouldn't have to regularly patch their software from hackers.

Overstock's All I want for Christmas Giveaway Promo
I just love contests that involves gadgets as prices. The latest promo from Overstock seems just right up my alley. The All I want for Christmas Giveaway promo will let you have a chance to win gifts that you have chosen from Overstock.com every day of the contest. The gifts are valued up to $1000. And if you’re feeling generous, you can invite five friends each day to register and win along with you. The rule goes: if you win, they also win the same gift as you do. You can probably gather all your friends and have them register you and you register them so you can have more chances of winning.
At the risk of sounding like those infomercials on TV… “Wait! There’s more!” The grand prize of the contest is that you get the chance to win the five free gifts of your choice during the duration of the contest! So what gift will I choose? Oh, I don’t know, there are a lot of gadgets and consumer electronics on Overstock but I’d probably choose: an LCD TV, two laptops, two phones, and maybe an MP3 player. Of course, that’s not yet final, I still have to browse through Overstock’s hundreds of items.

Samsung is No. 2 in Global Phone Market
Okay, so what's happening to Motorola? They've just been bumped out of the number two spot in the Global Phone Market by Samsung. So who's number one? Do you really need to ask? It's Nokia of course, it's not like Apple ever made a dent on Nokia's sales.
Anyways, according to the report, Motorola's sales were sluggish during the third quarter of 2007. I'll tell you what's wrong Motorola, don't just bank on your RAZR line! Sure, they're sleek and sexy and totally cool but it doesn't mean that you have to milk it for everything it's got, it's nice to see variety once in a while.
In terms of phone performance and specifications, Motorola doesn't really have a problem there, I've liked my Motorola phones, however, they need to get someone on the drawing board and start making cooler looking handsets that doesn't involve clam-shell and razor thin design.

Ultimate Revenge Movie: Sweeny Todd
Just saw the trailer of the latest Johnny Depp Film, Sweeny Todd. At first, I thought it was just another slasher flick then I distinctly heard Johnny Depp singing and I asked my boyfriend, what the heck is that? Apparently, it’s supposed to be a movie adaptation of a musical about a demon barber out for revenge.
Most action flicks and horror films sometimes center on revenge as their theme because, who wouldn’t want revenge? Let’s face it, no matter how morally upright we were brought up, if someone hurts us or the ones we love, we always have that feeling inside us that wants revenge.
Speaking of revenge, best revenge film I’ve seen so far is Kill Bill. You can positively taste Uma Thurman’s thirst for revenge in every scene. The list of body count alone would tell you how much Uma Thurman would want to stick the sword in Bill’s gut. Anyways, if you like revenge films, you’ll probably like Sweeny Todd. Sweeny Todd is about a man who was unjustly sent to prison and then vowed revenge for his punishment and for what happened to his wife and kid after he was imprisoned. Sweeny Todd turned into a turned into some sort of serial killer and shaving the heads of his victims in his barber shop.
For more information about the movie, you should visit the official Sweeney Todd movie site and while you’re at it, you might also want to visit Sweeny Todd on MySpace.
