Sony Ericsson MD300: Mobile broadband USB Modem

Now this is what I'm talking about, a company that realizes that people are looking for more and more ways to be connected. Sony Ericsson has just launched the Sony Ericsson MD300, a mobile broadband USB Modem that can connect to HSDPA, UMTS, EDGE, or GPRS networks.

I really think that if you live in a place that has limited hotspots, WAN networks are the way to go since almost every inch of the country is covered by a cell phone signal so WAN networks will allow you to connect to the Internet literally, ANYWHERE, ALL THE TIME. Unfortunately, a few laptops out in the market have built-in WAN networks so you have to get a separate aircard that can slip into your compatible card slot.

The Sony Ericsson MD300 is a USB modem so you don't have to worry about compatibility issues as most laptops today have USB slots, it's more portable too and you can use it on a desktop PC as well. Unfortunately, the Sony Ericsson will be available only on selected markets starting the first quarter of 2008.
