How to backup your files online

There are a number of media available for backing up your data ranging from your hard disk drive, floppy disks, CDs, DVDs, flash disk drive, or Memory cards, however, the fact remains that hardware failure happens and with hardware failure comes data loss. Another disadvantage of backing up your data using conventional methods is that there is risk of loss not just from hardware failure but from fire, vandalism, terrorist attacks, war, and natural disasters as well.

One good alternative for data backup is using Anytime@Anywhere offsite backup services. Anytime@Anywhere online backup service can backup your files using encrypted connection on their online backup services. Not only is your data protected but you lessen your backup costs as well.

For other Online backup services on the net, always remember: Google is your friend search for: "online backup services" or "online backup services forums" so you can first hand information from consumers who have already tried online backup services.

Quality Home Improvements

Home improvements can range from simple home renovations to adding a new room to your home and a great addition for any homes is a conservatory. Conservatories are usually a glass structure found in the garden of some homes and is usually used as a greenhouse or a sunroom. Conservatories are very popular in Europe as it can increase the value of your home. However, you should always choose the right people to build your conservatory as the wrong choice could lower the value of your property rather than increase it.

If you’re in the UK and you’re planning on some home improvements, you should look into Anglian Home Improvement. They offer high quality home improvements and they can install a great conservatory for your home. Their Garden Room conservatory would be perfect for any home since it can be versatile enough to fit internal and external corners and you can make use of every inch of your floor area. How to Find the best gadget deals on Black Friday!

Only a few more weeks to go before black friday and the shopping season will officially start. This is probably the best time for you to buy that gadget you have your eye on. Black Friday is what people usually call the day after Thanksgiving which marks the beginning of the Christmas shopping season. During this day, retailers often open at 5 a.m. and offer big discounts to draw people to their stores…and they do give BIG discounts. Since retailers usually give doorbuster deals (items being sold for free or a very LOW price), expect people to be lined up very early, overcrowded stores and bumper-to-bumper traffic on Black Friday. Retailers usually don’t announce their Black Friday ads until you see them in your Thanksgiving Day newspaper so a lot of people miss the big sale.

A few website offers info about a retailers’ Black Friday ads so people can plan their whole shopping list before going to the store. Black-Friday.net is one such site, they can give you email alerts when a retailer has posted their Black Friday ad. And if you’re one of those persons who hate waiting in line, the site also lets you purchase Black Friday items online so you won’t have to wake up at 5am to stand in line. The site already posted the Ace Hardware Black Friday Ad. One good deal on Ace Hardware’s Ad is the 7” digital photo frame. Ace Hardware will sell their 7” digital photo frame on Black Friday for only $49.99, more than $8 off the retail price.

And if you’re still not convinced that Black Friday is the best day to shop for great deals, last year, I got a laptop for only $199, more than $400 off its retail price at COMPUSA.

Making money out of your blog through PayPerPost

I’ve heard about blogging years before and though I love writing, blogging never really interested me since I’m not really comfortable with the idea of sharing my thoughts with the whole world wide web. Things changed when I joined an online money-making forum, trying to look for work at home opportunities, and found out that most work-at-home moms used their blogs to earn money and that’s when I’ve heard about PayPerPost.

According to my new online friends, if I wanted to earn from my blog, the best way is to register with PayPerPost. I did my research and found out that PayPerPost is a site that lets bloggers earn money by saying something about an advertiser’s website, kinda like promoting a website through your blog or blog advertising. I wasn’t too excited about the idea at first but after several days of research, I was convinced that PayPerPost was the most preferred website when it comes to paid to blog sites so I headed over to blogger.com and made my technology blog and then I joined PayPerPost. I was excited to see the website’s interface, it was very cool looking and a lot of opportunities were posted. First thing I’ve learned at PayPerPost is: READ THE RULES. I was so excited to look for my first money-making opportunity that I didn’t see that my blog first needs to be 3 months old before it would be approved. Well, after 3 months of waiting, my blog was finally approved and now I’ve joined the largest community of bloggers that try to make the most out of their blog.

NEC has new facial recognition software on their Laptops

NEC is introducing facial recognition on their laptops called "NeoFace" which is a combination of eye zone extraction and facial recognition to help identify the user of the laptop.

NEC originally developed the "NeoFace" technology for security applications like prison management, corporate security or border control so that fingerprint recognition could be eliminated. Last July, NEC's facial recognition technology was used in an automated border control system in the Hong Kong-Shenzhen border to identify people while inside their cars. The system reads a car's license plate and then compares the driver's face with the registered driver's ID.

NEC is now introducing the "NeoFace" on their LaVie C and Lavie L series of laptops. The program works when a user configures a profile with three photographs of their face. When the user logs-in, the 2 mega pixel camera on the laptop will scan their facial features.

The system then uses a matching method to determine the identity of the person logging-in. According to NEC, "Neoface" can perform accurate matching even when the user wears glasses, hats, had a new haircut or facial hair, or wears a different facial expression. NEC however adds that the ability to distinguish between identical twins is still speculative.

The LaVie C and LaVie L will be available in the Japanese market in September with prices ranging from ¥150,000 to ¥310,000.

Make Money Out of Your Blog

I’ve recently started blogging just 3 months ago and the primary reason I did it was to earn some bucks. I’ve read in posts and forums that you can actually blog for money and some people really do reel in the big bucks just for writing a few posts online. In fact, the most common way of earning money through the internet is through blogs. There are various ways on how to get paid for blogging. One is through accepting advertising on your blog. If your blog has a high page rank and a lot of readers, advertisers would want to advertise on your blog.

Another way to earn money for your blog is through get paid to blog sites. These kind of sites bring advertisers and bloggers together, eliminating the tough task for bloggers of scouring the net for someone to advertise on their blog. One such site is Smorty. I’ve only been a member of Smorty for a few days but the first time my blog was approved, I already had two tasks waiting for me. Payout would depend on the advertiser but I think the minimum is $5 and they pay through Paypal. Your blog has to be more than 3 months old for it to be approved. Smorty has a very user-friendly interface and campaigns are emailed to suitable bloggers, however you need to log in immediately to accept it as most opportunities are quickly taken.

So if you’re already blogging or thinking of blogging, why not make the most of your blog and get paid while writing about your favorite things.
